You have seen him in Four Brothers, Revolver, and Idlewild, just to name a few movies. But you may also know him as half of Outkast, or the crazy one with the hair, colorful clothing and shirtless! Mr. Andre Benjamin also known as Andre 3000, will no longer be singing about roses really smelling like “oh oh oh oh”, “Ms. Jackson”, nor will he singing about how much he likes the way shawty moves.
This multitalented star will play the role of the legendary guitarist, Jimi Hendrix! Shocking? Yeah, I was just as shocked while reading the articles. Andre is currently in Ireland shooting for the film. The film will portray the period in England where Hendrix created his debut album entitled Are You Experienced during 1966-67. There is no set date for the release of this film.
Critics and “fans” are already saying that he will act nothing like Hendrix, and that Prince should have been chosen to play the part of Jimi Hendrix instead of Andre 3000. Well, I know that Mr. Benjamin can definitely act! And I know that he will definitely show out and do what he needs to! We will see what what this guy will bring to theaters…and soon I hope!
